'Words with Friends' with Benefits: David and Paul Bettner have taken Newtoy from downtown coffee houses to the top of iTunes' virtual box office

Thumbnail
David and Paul Bettner sit at a corner table of a downtown coffee shop on W. Louisiana Street, engrossed in their laptops like so many coffee house regulars.

They type furiously across lines of unrecognizable gibberish that only a true tech-head could decipher, pausing to test out a word game on the screen or their iPhones.

Football: Hebron rolls Colleyville Heritage in opener

CARROLLTON — It didn’t take Hebron’s football team long to get in form Friday in its season-opener against Colleyville Heritage as the Hawks scored early and often on their way to a dominating win over the Panthers, 60-27.

Heritage (1-1) was coming off a 58-52 overtime win last week against Duncanville but again struggled on the defensive side of the ball.

Daxx Garman mess could have Ozeed into Plano

Anyone who saw Southlake ISD athletic director Kevin Ozee squirming and being caught in his own lies Tuesday night during WFAA’s report on the eligibility concerns surrounding Dragons quarterback Daxx Garman may have been intrigued and disgusted at the same time.
