McKinney’s Mahan sinks first PGA Tour win
McKinney High School graduate Hunter Mahan scored his first victory on the PGA Tour on Sunday, the Travelers Championship by sinking a birdie on the first playoff hole at TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.
Mahan, who won $1.08 million, had to birdie the 18th hole to tie Jay Williamson at 15-under 265 and force a playoff. He had started Sunday’s fourth round one stroke back of Williamson.
