Lions plan
golf fund-raiser
The McKinney Lions Club will have its Hole-In-One Shoot Out fund-raiser Friday to next Sunday at the Oak Hollow Golf Course, 3005 N. McDonald Street.
Tickets to the event are available through any McKinney Lions Club member and by phone with Marvin Banks at 972-658-1574. Tickets are priced $5 each and provide the buyer with five shots at qualifying for the shootout and a golf goodie bag. There will also be monetary prizes for those that finish the closest to the pin each day.
The McKinney Lions club uses funds from the event to provide:

Historic group plans
Octoberfest fete
The McKinney Historic Neighborhood Association will have its Octoberfest party from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27 at Bob and Debbie Moore’s home, 804 Tucker.
The event is potluck and BYOB. Attendees can wear a costume.

Gaslighters Review
Club will meet
The Gaslighters Review Club will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday atn the Katharine Heard-Craig Auditorium, 306 N. Church Street. Reviewer will be Carol Brandon.
Refreshments will be served and guests are welcome.

YMCA offers event
on Halloween eve
The McKinney Family YMCA will offer a Halloween event from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30 at the “Y,” 300 Ridge Road.
The YMCA will be decorated and well supervised, according to a news release.
“It’s a safe, creative and social experience for all ages,” said Beverly McCord, event director. “Families want to know that their children are being looked after on Halloween night, while engaging in enjoyable, worthwhile activities.”
Features will include carnival-style games, a bounce house, costume events and face painting.
The event is free for members who present their YMCA ID; $5 for non-members.

KLAK, Heard plan
Halloween party
Radio station KLAK and the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Center are teaming up for a Halloween party from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Oct. 27.
Features will include museum tours; a visit from “Deuce,” the Frisco RoughRiders mascot and free T-shirts, flashlights and trick-or-treat bags. A “Trick or Treat through Dinosaurs Alive” followed by costume contest for younger children will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; the movie “A Night at the Museum” will be shown from 8 to 10 p.m.; and “Trick or Treat through Dinosaurs Alive” for older children will take place from 10 to 11 p.m.
