Dr. Gene Burton, Rockwall ISD superintendent has announced that Dr. Richard Reeder has been named director of multi-media communications for the Rockwall Independent School District. Most recently, Reeder has served as principal at Quest Academy.

Director of multi-media communications is a new position created specifically to expand multi-media communication methods throughout the district on both an internal and external level. The position is primarily content-based, and Reeder’s extensive background in writing coupled with his campus experience will provide the skills necessary to effectively expand communication with staff, parents and the community on a broad range of issues.

“Dr. Reeder is going to add valuable expertise to our communications staff,” said Sheri Fowler, executive director of communications, public relations and marketing. “Dr. Reeder is a gifted writer with an understanding of the educational process that will allow him to effectively communicate with a wide audience.”

Dr. Reeder has served as a campus administrator for Rockwall ISD for 14years, the past 12 as a principal.

“After 12 years as a campus principal in RISD, I feel like a graduate moving to the next phase of my life and career,” said Dr. Reeder. “Although I don’t know all that’s out there in front of me, I’m just excited to still be a part of a district that is so important to me.”
