Labor Day closings, trash pickup schedules altered

In recognition of Labor Day on Sept. 1, the City of Plano will close the following offices and services: city offices, the Custer Road Compost Facility, the Household Chemical Reuse Center, Parks & Recreation Administration, Plano Senior Recreation Center, Williams, Douglass Community and Carpenter Park Recreation Center.

All Plano schools will not conduct classes and the Administrative Building on 15th Street will be closed, said Nancy Long, Plano ISD communications coordinator.

Environmental Waste Services Collection will also be affected by the closings of various city offices. The City of Plano will conduct waste collections the day after the regularly scheduled day during the week of Aug. 31—Sept. 6. For example, Monday collections will be on Tuesday, Tuesday collections will be on Wednesday, etc. through Friday.

The Plano Libraries will be closed from Aug. 31—Sept. 1 and reopen Sept. 2.

The Plano Animal Services Department will be closed Sept. 1—2

Plano’s six public pools n Jack Carter, Plano Aquatic Center, Rowlinson Natatorium, Liberty Recreation Center, Oak Point Center and Tom Muehlenbeck Center n will operate on revised schedules from 1-6 p.m.
