CCA to benefit from 24-hour ‘CreateAthon’

Published: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 2:45 PM CST
Christian Community Action (CCA), a Lewisville-based organization that helps people in need, will benefit from a 24-hour ‘CreateAthon’ planned by a Dallas advertising agency from 10 a.m. Jan. 29 to 10 a.m. Jan. 30.

The ad agency, called mundayMorning, announced plans several months ago to offer some nonprofit organizations in North Texas the benefit of a 24-hour blitz to provide pro-bono creative and marketing services.

The agency announced last week that 12 nonprofit agencies in North Texas will be recipients of free services during that 24-hour period.

In addition to CCA, other recipients of marketing services from the ad agency during the CreateAthon will include The Warren Center, Plano Community Home, North Texas Rehabilitation Services, Friends Forever of North Texas, Central Dallas Ministries, Preservation Dallas, Texas Winds Musical Outreach, Homeward Bound, Heart House Dallas and Allen Community Outreach.

Narcisco Tovar, mundayMorning vice president of public relations, said, “With individual projects ranging from logos to Web sites for the organizations selected, the estimated market value of the CreateAthon is more than $42,000.”

He said a billboard design for CCA’s ReSale stores will be created during the 24-hour CreateAthon.

Kathie Gautille, CCA vice president of marketing, said CCA stands to receive substantial benefit from mundayMorning’s agreement to design the billboard.

“We became aware of the mundayMorning CreateAthon and decided to submit an application,” she said.  “This is very exciting because we would never have the marketing dollars to develop a billboard for our ReSale stores.  The 24-hour CreateAthon, will have a billboard design that will raise awareness for our ministry as well as call attention to our ReSale stores, which we hope will help us generate more shoppers.

“Everyone who shops at our ReSale stores helps CCA help those hurting in our own community,” she said. “This is exciting, and I am so pleased CCA’s application was accepted.  I can’t wait for Jan. 30 to see what mundayMorning will come up with for CCA in a 24-hour period.”

CCA has two ReSale stores in Lewisville and one in The Colony. For information and a map, go to www.ccahelps.org/resale_stores/
