Boys basketball: McKinney North edges Frisco Centennial

McKinney North held on for a 60-59 victory at home over Frisco Centennial on Friday night.
Greg Gali led North with 24 points, and Bishop Cunningham scored 17.
Zach Lambert scored 31 of Centennial's 59 points.
North scoring: Charles Parker 8, Todd McGowen 4, Antonio Arnold 4, Josh Green 2, Chris Allen 1.
Centennial scoring: Zach Lambert 31, Stephen Martin 8, Chris Tecco 6, Murray Kastner 5, Brandon Jolivette 4, Dominique Carroll 3, Brandon Washington 2.
MCKINNEY IN SECOND
Frisco Wakeland upset McKinney, 73-69, despite 33 points from G.J. Vilarino.
Preston Whitley scored 25 points for Wakeland. Malcolm Todd added 21 for Wakeland.
McKinney scoring: Nico Mucci 9, Beau Smith 8, Brandon White 7, Ronald Rocquemore 7, Prescott Mack 2, Hunter Edwards 2, Jared Farley 1.
Wakeland scoring: Malcolm Todd 21, Nick Hinton 10, Gerald Coney 5, Jonathan Jeschke 4, Wilson Herlin 4, Billy Lacy 2, Dallas Grier 2.
Sherman took over first place in District 9-4A with an 82-64 win at Frisco on Friday night.
BIG NIGHT FOR DENISON
T.J. Taylor scored 40 points as Denison won, 89-63, at home over Frisco Liberty.
