Teacher faces charges for having sex with 14-year-old
By Stephanie Flemmons, Staff Writer
A middle school teacher was arrested for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student after allegedly getting him drunk.
Mariane Kieffer, 39, turned herself into the Collin County Detention Center Aug. 7 and posted a $50,000 bond that same day. Kieffer was charged with having an improper relationship between an educator and a student and sexual assault of a child.
According to a PISD staff roster, Kieffer is a special education teacher at Carpenter Middle School, where the boy attended.
According to Nancy Long, PISD spokeswoman, Kieffer has been placed on paid administrative leave and the school district turned the investigation over to the police.
“We issued a warrant for Kieffer after the Plano police investigated an alleged relationship between herself and a 14-year-old male student,” said Rick McDonald, Plano police spokesman. “Plano police are pursuing further investigation to determine whether there are other victims.”
