Rowlett teen selected for fashion camp
From staff reports
Galleria Dallas has long been recognized as a source for fashion innovation in North Texas and across the Southwest. This summer, top teens who aspire to work in the fashion industry as designers, buyers and fashion journalists applied for the chance to get one of a kind hands-on training in the fashion industry at Galleria Dallas Fashion Camp.
Sixty teens, including Rowlett High School sophomore Tinea lacy, were selected to attend this year’s camp.
“The students selected for this year’s fashion camp represent the future of the fashion industry,” Galleria Director of Marketing and Business Development Angie Freed said. “These students have a very sophisticated understanding of fashion, and they are incredibly focused on their goals. We hope to give them an amazing experience at Galleria Dallas.”
Fashion Camp Director Karl Marshall brings years of fashion experience to participating teens. An international model for 10 years, Marshall produces fashion shows and events in Dallas, Los Angeles and other markets. Marshall’s enthusiasm keeps all participants engaged, despite the busy work schedule.
Campers will spend each afternoon planning and executing a Back-To-School Fashion Show, which Galleria shoppers will enjoy at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The fashion show will include scenes created by the campers using professional models and emceed by Galleria Dallas Fashion Expert Holly Quartaro and Mix 102.9’s Victoria Snee.
Freed said she is enthusiastic about the return of Fashion Camp.
“Galleria Dallas has always been a top destination for fashion-conscious teens,” Freed said. “We are excited to host top industry experts as they educate and enlighten these students with an insider’s view of the fashion industry.”
