McKinney baseball report

Blake Cronin's grand slam and Jacob Smith homer powered McKinney to take over first place in District 9-4A baseball on Friday night.
Smith had three runs batted in, and McKinney had nine hits in a 11-1 victory at Sherman. On defense, McKinney (16-8, 11-2) made no errors and held Sherman to five hits as pitcher Zach Lee earned the five-inning win.
Anthony Hermalyn doubled. Sherman's Gus Daniel also doubled.
In other Tuesday games, Sherman blasted Frisco Liberty, 16-1, and Frisco Wakeland beat Frisco, 4-2.
NORTH WINS AGAIN
McKinney North scratched out an 11-5 victory at home over Frisco on Friday behind pitcher Justin Scharf. Kindle Ladd and Ty Crump doubled for North.
In other action Friday, Frisco Centennial beat Denison, 10-8. On Monday, Frisco beat Denison, 5-2. Frisco's Brandon Mitchell homered.
North won a Denison, 12-1, on Tuesday as Ladd tossed a two-hitter. Ryan Schlemmer, Chris Carpenter and A.J. Florence doubled for North.

BOYD WINS
McKinney Boyd put together 12 hits and pitcher Jacob Coffey and the defense beat Jesuit, 6-4, on Friday. Brad Burnside pitched for the save as Boyd held Jesuit to five hits.
Parker Boleneus homered for Boyd, and Randy Mann tripled. Colton Fries, Coffey and Boleneus doubled.
In other 8-5A games, Plano West beat Wylie, 4-1, and Plano East topped Allen, 4-1.
On Tuesday, Boyd fell at Plano, 4-3. Tyler Neporadny, Randy Mann, Will Fletcher and Doug Ashby doubled for Boyd. In other Tuesday night games, Plano East beat Plano West, 8-3, and Allen topped Jesuit, 8-5.

Prosper beat Gainesville, 5-3, last Monday. Williams pitched for the win. Tucker Alexander tripled for Prosper. Brian Hardy doubled.
On Tuesday, Prosper and pitcher Clayton Woodruff beat Argyle, 2-1. Celina beat Sanger, 10-1.

Lovejoy and pitcher Tyler Provence beat Emory Rains, 10-0, on Friday. Lovejoy had 11 hits, including homers from Matt Berryman and Dusty Stone and a triple by Carson Cooper. Jace Melby doubled for Lovejoy. on Tuesday, Lovejoy beat Nevada Community, 11-7.
Farmersville beat Nevada Community, 17-7, on Monday. On Tuesday, Farmersville won at Quinlan Ford, 11-1.

Howe won at Melissa, 6-2, as pitcher Branden Crabb tossed a four-hitter and homered. Aaron Bush doubled for Melissa. Howe's T.J. Towne also homered, and Devin Hargrove tripled, on Monday.
On Monday night, Leonard plays at Melissa at 7 p.m.
NOTABLE
Frisco Legacy Christianl pitcher and Texas A&M signee Mason Leavitt struck out a dozen in his one-hit, 10-0 victory over Rockwall Christian.
Rockwall Christian plays at McKinney Christian at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
