McKinney Boyd beat Wylie in girls volleyball on Tuesday night. Boyd won in three straight games, 25-14, 25-20 and 25-19. The Lady Broncos extended their win streak to six matches. Boyd's record is now 25-14 overall and 7-1 in district play.
As a team, the Lady Broncs notched 45 kills in the match for a .290 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Cara Howley led in kills with 16 and posted four blocks on the night. Defensively, the Lady Broncos had five blocks and 67 digs with four different players having two block assists. Freshmen Megan Mollett had six blocks. Kelley Martin led the team with 21 digs while Drew Darling and Howley had 14 and 13 digs, respectively.
Frisco Centennial held on to edge McKinney North, 3 games to 2. Centennial won the first two games, 25-19, 25-18. North came back to win, 27-25, 25-23. Then, Centennial prevailed with a 15-13 win in Game 5. Contributing for the Lady Bulldogs were Alyssa Swank with 39 assists and 14 digs, Allison Stubbs with 28 digs and 21 kills, Aundrea Gamble with 18 kills, 5 digs and 3 aces, and Alayna Jackson with 11 kills and eight digs. North’s district record is now 7-5.
McKinney Christian knocked off Fairhill in three straight games. MCA won, 25-11, 25-13, 25-17.
Celina beat Whitesboro, 3 games to 1 in 9-3A.
Farmersville defeated Princeton in three games, 29-27, 25-19 and 25-17.
