During The Colony High School football game on Friday versus Denton High School, junior Taylor Shimek and senior Nina Dominguez were introduced as the Cheerleaders of the Week.
Shimek enjoys hanging out with her friends when she's not involved in cheering, tumbling or attending a cheer function. One thing she works hard at is perfecting her cheer motions and cheer skills. Her biggest accomplishment so far has been making the varsity cheer squad.
Shimek continues to work hard and help any of her cheer mates since a goal for all cheer members is always to improve their cheer skills. She enjoys tumbling and has a lot of fun with her cheer friends. One accomplishment she has had besides cheering is making "Student of the Month," of which her family is very proud.
Dominguez started cheering at a young age with the TCYFA organization and has been a cheerleader at TCHS since her freshman year. One of the things she enjoys the most about being a cheerleader is performing at the football games and having her family there to support her. After graduation her plans are to move to Austin and attend medical school.
