Restricted cell-phone use target of marketing
Marketing management students at the FISD Career and Technical Education Center are developing a public relations project to inform the community about the new cell phone use laws and promoting the use of hands free devices while driving. They have developed a promotional mix and activities surrounding the Frisco community and high schools. These include:
* Promotion posters to be placed in Frisco high schools and throughout the community
* Information brochures to be handed out at booths set-up at all high schools
* Raffle in the high schools for hands free devices
* Ads in the high school newspapers
* Frisco ISD TV story on the Frisco Channel and high school V-Brick
The Marketing Management students have worked collaboratively with the Graphic Design II students to design all promotional and informational material. They will also work with the Broadcast students at the CTE Center to develop a news story.
Upon the conclusion of this project, the students will write a thirty page report describing the PR project in detail. They will develop a presentation to compete at the DECA District Competition in February in the Public Relations Chapter Project.
Holiday cooking season is gearing up
And students in Frisco ISD's culinary arts programs are busy cooking, too. Culinary arts
students are often tapped to prepare holiday and honorary luncheons for the district’s faculty and staff, and sometimes visiting district officials.
Five high schools have culinary arts programs: Centennial High School (taught by Cristina Goodman); Frisco High School (taught by Doris Owusu); Liberty High School (taught by Melinda Lennington); and Wakeland High School (taught by PerriAnn Kaufman); and this school year is the first for Heritage High School's culinary arts program, taught by Tammy Mumford.
All Frisco ISD High School culinary arts programs use the FS Prep program,
designed by the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation (TRAEF).
