Two dead in multi car accident on U.S. 380
By Sgt. Adam Henderson, Special Contributor
Two people are dead following a late afternoon multi car crash on U.S. Highway 380 between Dallas North Tollway and Preston Road. As of Thursday evening, motorists were being asked to avoid the area.
At 4:35 p.m. Thursday Frisco police officers and fire personnel responded to US-380 between Preston Road and Dallas Tollway in response to a multi-car collision. A preliminary investigation into the collision by the Frisco Police Department’s Traffic Unit has concluded that a gold passenger car was heading eastbound on US-380 when it lost control while crossing over a bridge, possibly due to icy conditions. The vehicle then spun into oncoming traffic.
Two other vehicles that were heading westbound on US-380 collided with the gold passenger car.
Three other motorists from the other two vehicles have been transported by the Frisco Fire Department to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
US-380 was expected to remain closed for a few more hours after 6 p.m. while the investigation continued. Motorists are urged to find alternate routes, using Preston Road or Dallas Tollway to navigate around the site of the collision.
Additional information will be released when available.
