Funeral set for Celina volunteer firefighter

Funeral services have been confirmed for the 34-year-old Celina volunteer firefighter who left behind two children.
The funeral for Chris Walters will be at the Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen at 10 a.m. Jan. 23.
Celina Fire Department Division Chief Kyle Mills said the the death was not in the line of duty, but would release no further information.
The fire department will temporarily handle the fund at Independent Bank till the scholarship fund can be officially set up.
Mills said a check for the fund should be made out to the Celina Fire Department with a note on the memo line, “For Chris Walters Scholarship Fund.” Checks can be dropped off at the Celina Fire Department administrative offices at 302 W. Walnut, Suite 200 or mailed to the same address in Celina, Texas 75009.
