The Newcomer Friends of Greater Plano 9th Annual Valentine’s Tea will be from 9:15 a.m.-noon. Tables are decorated by members with their own dishes, linens and centerpieces. As part of Collin College’s African American History Month celebration, Dr. Marcus Martin, president and CEO of Education is Freedom, will speak from 1-2:30 p.m. Since 2002, Education Is Freedom has provided more than $6 million in renewable scholarships to first generation college attendees across the country.
