Baylor updates day surgery center
From Staff Reports
Baylor Regional Medical Center has renovated its day surgery unit. Staffed by a team of highly-qualified and experienced medical professionals, the unit is designed to improve the experience of patients who return home the same day of their surgical procedure.
“We are excited to build upon our legacy of being trusted as the best place to give and receive safe, quality, compassionate health care in a patient-centered environment,” said Doug Lawson, president of Baylor Regional Medical Center. “The dedicated day surgery unit will help make our patients’ visit more comfortable and further enhance the advanced surgical care we currently offer.”
Equipped with 13 operating theatres, the day surgery unit is centered on patients and their family members. Families are welcome and encouraged to stay with the patient before and after surgery. A comfortable waiting area with free refreshments is also provided. Families receive a personal telephone call from a registered nurse to update them on their loved one’s progress during and after surgery.
Day surgery at Baylor Regional Medical Center performs more than 7,000 procedures a year in an array of specialties including open heart surgery, joint replacements, neurosurgery, weight loss surgery, gynecology and general surgery.
Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine is a full-service, fully-accredited not-for-profit hospital serving residents in more than 20 cities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth region.
