All teachers prepare for the new school year differently. For teachers at Rockenbaugh Elementary, getting prepared was a little cooler this year.
The Rockenbaugh Parent Teacher Organization treated teachers and other staff to complimentary snow cones last Thursday as one last way to show its thanks before the first day of school.
According to Rockenbaugh Principal Karen White, the snow cones, provided by Kona Ice, are just one thing the PTO does for the school.
Janet Mosier, an instructional aid in the life skills department at Rockenbaugh, said the snow cones were a welcome treat.
“The snow cones were a wonderful break in the routine of getting ready for school,” she said. “The new school year is exciting, but you never get out of the teaching mode. We always have training and are looking for new ideas to bring to the school. You are always in the mindset.”
The first day of school in Carroll ISD was Monday.
