BY JUSTIN THOMAS, JThomas@acnpapers.com
The top four teams in the District 8-5A standings kept rolling Friday as Marcus, Allen, Plano West and Hebron all notched victories and moved one step closer to securing berths in the Class 5A playoffs.
Marcus (8-1) and Allen (8-1) remained tied for first after earning convincing wins against their respective opponents.
Powered by 13 kills from Lauren Douglass and 20 digs from Katie Neisler, the Lady Marauders had no problem getting past Flower Mound (25-23, 25-12, 25-13) to complete a season sweep of the Lady Jaguars.
The Lady Eagles, meanwhile, topped Lewisville (25-14, 25-13, 25-17) while Hebron (7-2) defeated Plano (25-15, 25-23, 25-19) and West topped East (25-17, 25-13, 25-13).
Marcus continues at 7 p.m. Tuesday against West while the Farmers host Hebron.
