Thomas Joe Porterfield
Thomas Joe Porterfield, 87, of McKinney, Texas passed away April 23, 2011.
He was born October 11, 1923, in Waxahachie, Texas to Thomas Fulton Porterfield and Mabel (King) Porterfield.
On October 11, 1944 he married Mary Beth Blair in Dallas, Texas.
Thomas was initiated into the Masonry on February 13, 1945. He was a member of the Richardson Masonic Lodge #1214, an endowed member of the Allen Lodge #1435, a member of Scottish Rite, York Rite, Hella Temple, Hella Temple Black Horse Patrol and also a member of local 100.
He is survived by his children, Beth A. Porterfield of McKinney, Texas, Jody Porterfield and wife, Lisa of Longview, Texas, Jim Porterfield and wife, Cynthia of Allen, Texas, Betsy Passarelli and husband, Mark of Garland, Texas and Brenda Rinn of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Christy, Tracy and Jason Porterfield, Jennifer and Josh Rinn, Shane White and Brandi Scott, James, Jack, John and Joe Byrum; great-grandchildren, Natalie Scott, Travis and Amanda White; and sister, Mary Straite of Richardson, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Beth Porterfield.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.
Interment followed at Fitzhugh Cemetery, Forest Grove Community following Masonic services.
The family received friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
