Joseph Germann, 80, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, in Lewisville, Texas.
He was born January 10, 1931, to Dr. Albert C. Germann and Winifred Walsh Germann in Los Angeles, California, and after his mother's death was raised by his stepmother, Jean Germann.Joseph graduated from Loyola University in Los Angeles in 1956 and the University of California, Berkeley, with his Master in Applied Theology in 1964. He served in the United States Air Force as lieutenant and the Air Force Reserve as captain from 1954 to 1972.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes; five children, Helen Young and husband, Tim of Flower Mound, Texas, Virginia Germann of Bentonville, Arkansas, Martha Germann of Lewisville, Texas, Timothy Germann and wife, Lori of Berlin, Germany and Edward Germann of The Woodlands, Texas; five grandchildren, Glen Gonzalez and fiancée Katherine, Eric Gonzalez and Tyler, Kevin and Ryanne Young; siblings, Thomas, Timothy and John Germann and Mary Flynn; and son-in-law Eduardo Gonzalez, who was married to his eldest daughter, Margaret, who preceded Joseph in death.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Albert.
Funeral mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville.
