Daniella Mason has been busy since graduating from Southlake Carroll High School in 2007 and going off to Belmont University in Tennessee, where she launched what is turning out to be a very successful singing career.
Her bio, courtesy of www.themusicbox.net, says,
Daniella Mason released her first EP, All but Harsh, in March of last year and is due to release her first full-length album, Throw Me 'Round the World, in July of this year. Mason wrote each song from a different place around the world from Africa to Guatemala. However her words are not excluding; each song is undeniably relatable. "It basically outlines my life and my desire to be thrown, not gently tossed, but thrown around the world so that I can reach as many people as possible."
This weekend, after a tour that has taken her all over the east coast, Mason, 22, will return to Dallas, as she shares the stage with Chase Foster, her co-headliner on her national tour of the United States. She will be performing at Poor David's Pub in Dallas this Friday night at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10-$12.
"I'm excited about coming back to Dallas and performing for a lot of my friends," she said. "I was involved in both the show choir and the concert choir while I was at Carroll High School and I also did some theater work at the theater in Grapevine. After traveling around so much, it's nice to be back home for a few days before we have to hit the road again."
Mason recently married Chris Young, a guitar player who normally plays in a country western band but who is been able to tour with Mason recently.
"We've been married for about eight months now and got married in Colleyville," Mason said. "It's nice to have him on the tour with us."
On stage, Mason will be performing a wide variety of Pop numbers with Foster.
"We do separate sets where we will perform separately and then we'll also come together to sing some duets," she said. "We do a lot of Pop music with some soul as well. We'll sing songs from Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie and Meryl Haggard so there's a little something in the show for everybody."
