Autumn is finally here and Texans are enjoying the cooler temperatures.

One of the best times of the year for gardening is fall in Texas.  Calloway's Nursery is holding the annual Fall Festival on October 1.

The festival celebrates all things to do with gardening and landscaping. One of the things available at the event will be fall plants and flowers and gardening experts available to give tips on the best way to plant flowers and plants to achieve the best color display.

Pansies are a hearty flower that will be interesting characters and provide intense color in your garden. Matrix pansies and Plentiful pansies will be available at the Fall Festival.

Petunias also do well when planted in the autumn and can compete with pansies for the brightest blooms or can be planted in colors to compliment the pansies and other plants in your fall garden.

At least 30 percent of the Calloway's Nursery workforces are Texas Certified Nursery professionals. They can show you how to include cyclamen and other colorful plants in your garden.

A key element to plants and flowers thriving is choosing the right potting soil and fertilizer.  Calloway's Nursery gardening experts will be happy to help you with that.

Plan to learn about landscaping at the free workshop held at all of the Calloway's locations at 10:15 a.m. The theme for that workshop is Fall Displays in the Landscape.

At the Fall Festival you can also pick up bright pumpkins and gourds in interesting shapes to use as accents in your garden or on your table.

Many activities are also planned for children to introduce them to gardening and just for having fun.

Come to the Fall Festival at Calloway's Nursery at 4220 North Galloway Road at Interstate 30, 972-686-0048.
