Plano man struck by vehicle
By Bill Conrad, bconrad@acnpapers.com
PLANO -- A 34-year-old Plano man was seriously injured Thursday night when he was hit by a car on Chase Oaks Boulevard near Legacy Drive.
Ryan Petersen was struck by another vehicle as he was putting gasoline into a vehicle driven by Lauren Loiselle. The vehicle ran out of gas and was parked in the right lane on the northbound side of Chase Oaks when the accident occurred. When he was struck by the car, Petersen was pinned between the two vehicles and suffered "incapacitating injuries," according to the accident report.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Petersen was Roosevelt Lee Brooks, a 68-year-old Plano resident. The accident report said the accident investigator ruled "driver inattention" as a contributing factor, as well as noting that the man said he had trouble seeing at night. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
Loiselle's car had its emergency flashers on at the time of the accident. No charges are expected to be filed against Brooks.
