CIS third graders help the Samaritan Inn in McKinney

Submitted photo
Third grade students at Celina Intermediate School collected items for the Samaritan Inn in McKinney instead of having a gift exchange for themselves. They pose with their teachers with items collected before they were delivered to the Samaritan Inn.
Staff reports
The third grade students at Celina Intermediate School have not had a gift exchange for themselves during the Christmas season.
Instead they have collected much-needed items to donate to the Samaritan Inn in McKinney. Each third grade class was asked to bring a specific item that Samaritan Inn needs such as paper towels, paper plates, hand sanitizer, adult and children's cough and cold medicines, toilet paper and toothbrushes and toothpaste.
In 2011 the third grade classes were also asked to bring in ladies socks. The children collected more than 220 items for the Samaritan Inn.
The Christmas project will continue with third graders during the next holiday season.
