Teen struck by vehicle (updated)

A local teenager was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the 2000 block of Kirkpatrick Lane.


Capt. Kurt Labhart of the Flower Mound Police Department said at 3:40 p.m., 17-year-old Phillip Odom pulled out of a private parking lot and was hit by a 1992 Oldsmobile sedan travelling westbound. The driver was 18-year-old Jacob Pearce.

Labhart said Odom was transported to Parkland Hospital via ambulance and is listed in serious but stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

“It appears that the boy failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle,” Labhart said, adding that the investigation is still ongoing. “The driver’s view may have been obstructed by a privacy fence.”
