Town reminds residents of charter election

Flower Mound is reminding residents that this year’s town council election will also feature a charter election.
Residents will have the option of voting “yes” or “no” on 12 proposed home-rule charter amendments.
The council appointed a Charter Review Commission in December 2011 to recommended potential amendments to the Town Charter. The council reviewed the commission’s report and recommendations, conducted public hearings and meetings regarding the proposed amendments, and voted to include 12 of the 13 recommendations on the May 12 ballot.
