Main Street golf tournament scheduled for May 14
The Celina Main Street golf tournament will be held at Gentle Creek Country Club in Prosper. The 19th annual tournament benefits Celina Main Street. Proceeds from the event help fund activities on the square. There is a $10,000 hole-in-one contest. This year a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to Collin College. Call the Main Street office at 972-382-2078 extension 13 to register a team or volunteer.
Celina, Prosper Project Graduation hold fundraiser
Prosper Pooch Party set for April 28
American Bank of Texas will sponsor the fifth annual Prosper Pooch Party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at the American Bank of Texas in Prosper. Among the contests scheduled for the day are Looks Most Like Owner, Best Hairstyle, Best Trick and Longest Ears. There will be more than 30 vendors with pet-related items for sale. American Bank of Texas is on Preston Road in Prosper.
Denton County Department of Emergency Services to hold CERT training
Denton County Department of Emergency Services will host a new training class for the Denton County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The training and exercises enables CERT members to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event while professional first-responders are not immediately available to help. The course will consist of four class sessions. Registration deadline is May 10. The class will be held in Little Elm. Call Brenda Gormley at 940-349-2855 for information.
Prosper Chamber forming Chamber 101 class
The Prosper Chamber of Commerce is forming a Chamber 101 class to acquaint people with the benefits of chamber membership. The class will hold a lunch meeting each month at noon. All chamber activities will be explained. For information email the Prosper Chamber at Prosperchamber@grandecom.net.
