The 2011-2012 boys basketball season has come to an end and the postseason honors have been released.

The Sunnyvale boys continued to add to their budding tradition, finishing in second place in 13-2A and making the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
"Each step helps toward building this program to where we want it to be," Sunnyvale head coach Paul Vanek said. "We're certainly happy to make the playoffs but we're not satisfied just to be here. We want to take it to the next level."
Sophomore Josh Quinn captured one of the superlative awards as he was named 13-2A newcomer of the year.
The Raiders had two other players named to the first team in senior Bobby Luka and junior Thomas Wendt.
Senior Danny Thomas was named to the 13-2A second team, while seniors Breylon Broadway, Connor Nash and Tanner Tutle were honorable mention selections.
District champion Life School Red Oak claimed a majority of the superlative awards, including most valuable player Victor Penny defensive player of the year Zabdi Cuellar and sixth man of the year Dante Anderson.
DISTRICT 15-4A
West Mesquite had a historic season in making it all the way to the Class 4A Region II tournament.
The Wranglers posted a 28-8 record, finished second in 15-4A and picked up playoff wins over Elgin, Whitehouse and Lancaster before falling to South Oak Cliff in the regional semifinals.
As a result, West Mesquite had three players named to the 15-4A first team, including a pair of superlative award winners.
"These guys worked hard in practice, they have a good attitude and they keep wanting to get better," West Mesquite head coach Todd Brewer said. "We've been able to have some success, but we are still trying to prove we belong with the best teams in the area. That is the goal."
Braylon Rayson was one of the superlative award winners as he was tabbed offensive player of the year. Rayson led the Wranglers in scoring with 16.2 points per game, while also ranking first with 57 3-pointers and 4.8 assists per game.
