Wrestling: Farmers finish second in The Colony
From staff reports
After failing to make weight 195 pounds, Lewisville wrestling coach Kent Hall wanted to teach Adam McNeil a message by making him compete a level up at heavyweight.
Instead, Hall may have found a bit of versatility in his lineup, as McNeil took first at the top weight class last Saturday at the Cougar Classic in The Colony.
Joining McNeil in first were Clay Lewis (145) and Rodrick Williams (220) as the Farmers took second as a squad. Rounding out the top performers for Lewisville were Jacob Pisana (126) in second, while Minh Hoang (106) and Erick Polanco (132) finished third.
"Adam was very impressive. I wanted to kind of teach him a lesson, so I guess it backfired. He did a great job."
The Farmers continued this weekend at the Jesuit Ranger Classic in Dallas.
"It's a tough tournament," Hall added.
The girls team, meanwhile, took part in the Bishop Dunne Tournament Saturday with Beatriz Sanchez finished second and Yessica Martinez in fourth.
