Rowlett, Sachse remain in upper tier of 10-5A baseball standings
By DEVIN HASSON, dhasson@starlocalnews.com
Rowlett and Sachse finished up the first half of the 10-5A season on a good note as each picked up victories on Friday.
The Eagles improved to 6-1 in district play and are tied with Naaman Forest for first place. The Mustangs, meanwhile, are also in good shape, as they stand at 5-2 in 10-5A and they are tied with McKinney Boyd for third place.
Rowlett (17-5) had little problem with Lakeview as it coasted to a 9-1 victory. Bradley Horn gave up a run on five hits to pick up the win on the mound.
Sachse (15-4) got a shutout performance by Kaleb Greaux as it posted a 6-0 victory over Garland.
The teams were scheduled to play on Tuesday but those games were postponed due to inclement weather and tentatively rescheduled for Wednesday in contests completed after The Rowlett Lakeshore Times' press time.
The Eagles and Mustangs are scheduled to meet on Thursday at Rowlett High School.
Rowlett will then play at South Garland on Tuesday while Sachse is slated to host Lakeview.
