Charges dropped against Little Elm woman
By Emily Hill, ehill@starlocalnews.com
The Tarrant County Grand Jury has decided to decline indicting 65-year-old attorney Judith Kenney for going through security at the DFW Airport with a gun in her carry-on bag in January.
According to a release, the panel no-billed Kenney last Friday. She had been charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon where weapons are prohibited, a third-degree felony. Grand jurors did not find "sufficient probable cause to warrant bringing the case to court for trial."
In January, Kenney was placed into custody after the officers found a handgun in her carry-on bag on an American Airlines jet that was already on the runway. The jet was called back to the gate for inspection, where a loaded .38-caliber revolver was found in Kenney's bag.
Kenney's attorney David Finn said his client had forgotten the gun was in her bag, which is what Kenney had told officials at the time of her arrest.
