Imaj concert set for Saturday

Collin County residents will get a chance to see and hear one of their own up and coming stars in a "Blush" concert set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at Wales Manor Vineyard & Winery in McKinney.
Imaj Thomas of Frisco, known to thousands as just Imaj, will be singing pop, soul and folk music, but mostly her favorite, country, before a crowd under the stars.
Imaj, daughter of Philip Michael Thomas who for years co-starred with Don Johnson on Miami Vice, is quickly rising in fame as a versatile singer. In addition to singing different genres, she sings in six different languages. She also is a published novelist and is known as a promoter of world peace.
She has opened for Lorrie Morgan and received a standing ovation when she was Gretchen Wilson's special guest for a CMA Fest.
Imaj started this year with a bang, performing her two-hour show on two successive nights to sold-out audiences in January at the Dallas Convention Center Theater Complex for the Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL). In February, she performed before a sold-out audience at the House of Blues in Dallas.
People who have attended events featuring Imaj's music have been asked after her show, "What was your favorite song by Imaj?" Many of them have answered, "All of them."
The event set for Saturday is being called the Imaj "Blush" Concert, named after her single "Blush," which she wrote and recorded with Ron Grimes, a guitarist and songwriter best known for his work with LeAnn Rimes.
Kassandra Thomas, Imaj's mother, said, "She has been singing since she was only a few months old, when her father held her on his lap while playing the piano."
In addition to hearing Imaj, attendees will be treated to a performance by the Rendola Paso Fino Show Horses of Aubrey.
