Cross country: Cougars compete in Lewisville

Blake Anderson and Brandon Rojo finished fifth and sixth, respectively, Saturday to lead The Colony's squad at the Rick Neill Memorial Invitational from Lake Park in Lewisville.


Anderson (16:40.34) and Rojo (16:44.72) finished off the pace of Gunther's Cody Campbell (16:00.83) in the Class 4A division.

On the girls side, the Lady Cougars were led by Adela Silva in 18th (12:26.46). McKinney's Megan Shea (11:40.71) took the individual title.

Rounding out the competitors for the Cougars were Colten Prater in 27th (17:33.94), Martin Mirzaie in 29th (17:36.23), Hector Larin in 31st (17:39.60), Bryan Zarate in 59th (18:17.11) and Carlos Martinez in 64th (18:30.82).

Following Silva in girls action was Carolyn LeBlanc in 26th (12:37.04), Emily Casper in 28th (12:41.31), Lisa Richins in 29th (12:41.55), Elizabeth Tubbs in 42nd (12:55.73) and Laura Aguilar in 68th (13:17.16).
