Debbie Lance, age 36, of The Colony, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Plano. Debbie was born in Dallas, TX, December 19, 1975 to John Donald and Donna Soloman McBride. She was a strong and courageous woman who suffered from Marfan Syndrome, went through several open heart surgeries, endured the death of an infant son, Maverick and the tragic death of her nine-year old son, Montana, in 2010 as a result of bullying.
Debbie along with her husband, Jason became active advocates for anti-bullying and testified last year before the Senate Education Committee in support of strengthening anti-bullying laws. In her husband’s words, “She fought for everybody out there, Debbie lived and breathed the anti-bullying message.”
Debbie is survived by her husband, Jason Lance, a son, Dooley, and her brother, Kevin McBride. In addition to an infant son, Maverick and 9-year old son Montana, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Donna Soloman McBride and John Donald McBride.
A memorial service was held Sept. 22, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Lewisville.
