Plano ISD attorneys have asked the Texas Attorney General's Office for permission to withhold documents requested by the Plano Star Courier regarding allegations made against Todd Reich, the Hunt Elementary coach accused of molesting a student between December 2009 and January 2010.

The newspaper sent a public information request to the district on Nov. 1, requesting any documents related to allegations made against Reich during that time period. The district sent a request to withhold the information to the attorney general's office on Nov. 28.

Attorneys for the district argue the documents are exempted from the Texas Public Information Act because they relate to pending or anticipated litigation and are confidential since they relate to an evaluation of a teacher's performance. In its letter to the attorney general, the district also said it has received a demand letter which "clearly demonstrates litigation is anticipated."
