Newman Smith band students named to All-Region bands

On Dec. 3, the Newman Smith High School Band had 14 members make chairs in the All-Region Bands. Two band members, Rachel Bennett and Eduardo Rocha, advance on to compete at the Area Band auditions in January for a chance to move on to perform with one of the All-State Bands in San Antonio the following month.
In addition, six students were named to the All Region Jazz Band in October.
The list of students, instrument and level of honor earned are as follows:
