Daniel Ven Neal, P.E.

Daniel Ven Neal, P.E., passed quietly in his sleep early morning December 1, 2012, at home in Plano, Texas, a community in which he was an active resident for 33 years.

Born March 22, 1944, Hoxie, Kansas to Ila "Dusty" and Virgil Neal and raised by his mother and Byron "Sonny" Jones.

He was a licensed auctioneer, active Rotarian and retired Civil Engineer who had recently penned a short story entitled "Kansas Championship Rodeo in Fall 1951."

He is survived by: his children, Dan, Teresa, Catherine and Denton; six grandchildren; his siblings, Tony, Bonny and Kyle; his mother "Dusty" Jones; and his dog IIBobB.

Beloved family man, his true love was in his generous heart. He achieved success, lived well and laughed often. He stood for right and good. "You my family will always be in my heart."

Services to be held Sunday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074, where the Honorable Judge John Payton will officiate a memorial.

Please remember this remarkable man with donations to North Texas Pioneers Rotary Club or Plano-Richardson Elks B.P.O.E. #2485, organizations he not only believed to be worthy causes, but supported with his time and resources. No flowers please.
