Lelia Joyce Weems
Lelia Joyce Weems, 82, of Prosper, Texas, passed away January 3, 2013, in Prosper.
Lelia was born January 13, 1930, in Frisco, Texas, to Millard Eugene and Nora Frances (Morris) Smith. She married James Earl Weems on November 6, 1948, in Frisco.
Lelia grew up in Frisco, where she graduated from Frisco High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Prosper, where she taught Children's Sunday School. Lelia enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Weems and wife, Cathy of Whitesboro, Texas, Rickie Weems and Gay Potvin of Prosper, Texas, and Brenda Browning and husband, Paul, also of Prosper; grandchildren, Hannah Weems, Jamie Dugan and husband, Drew, Jon Weems and Mandy, Thomas Savoy, Shelby Savoy, and Brittany Browning; great-grandchildren, Melody, Mason, and Gavin; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and six sisters.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Frisco, Texas. Interment followed at Rowlett Cemetery in Plano, Texas. The family received friends during a visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco.
