Michael Andrew Long, 43, of Little Elm, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 31, 1969, in Irving, Texas to Jerry Lee Long and Karen Burns Long. He grew up in Lewisville but moved to Little Elm in 1994 to be near his family.
Michael is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Shawn Renfro of Fort Irwin, California, and a beloved granddaughter, Chloe Renfro, who was the light of his life; a son, Zachary Long, of Little Elm; his mother and stepfather, Karen Long-DeSmit and Joe DeSmit of Little Elm; his father and stepmother, Jerry and Carolyn Long of Denton; and a brother, Mark Long of The Colony; aunts Kay Brown and Ellen Bloedel of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; and stepbrothers, Forrest DeSmit of Watauga, and Jeff DeSmit of Lewisville.
A service to celebrate Michael's life was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Lewisville. Reverend Paul Sackett officiated the service. For online condolences please visit www.mulkeymason.com.
Michael loved life, his music, and his family. He loved to make us laugh and faced a difficult life with humor. He will be missed by all of us.
