11-5A BOYS SOCCER: Rowlett tops Garland in district opener

While most of the district got started with 11-5A play on Friday, Rowlett had a few extra days off with its bye.
The Eagles finally took the field on Tuesday and they made a successful district debut, getting goals from Laurick Malla and Nathan Rumore in a 2-1 victory over Garland.
Sachse, which won its 11-5A opener against North Garland, fell short on Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to Lakeview to slip to 1-1 in district play.
South Garland emerged as the early leader, improving to 2-0 with a 3-2 victory over North Garland.
