Poteet senior Kaylah Hunter recently signed to play at the collegiate level at Baylor next season.

District 23-4A opponents will not be sorry to see her go.

Hunter continued a prolific season to this point in helping the Pirates pick up a pair of victories to improve to 3-0-0-0 in 23-4A play.

Hunter, who has 21 goals on the season, tallied a hat trick and Sheridyn Barnes added another goal in a 4-0 blanking of Kaufman on Tuesday.

The outcome was almost identical to Friday's 4-1 shutout of North Forney that also featured a hat trick by Hunter and a score from Barnes.

Poteet, with nine points, is tied for first place with Forney, with those two teams slated to meet on Tuesday.

West Mesquite picked up a 2-0 victory over Terrell on Tuesday. That helped them bounce back from last Friday's contest against Crandall, where they got a goal from Sabrina Martinez but still fell short in a 2-1 loss.

The Wranglers will try to establish themselves as an upper-tier 23-4A team this week when they play at North Forney on Friday and at Kaufman on Tuesday.
