Boy arrested for posting threat to Hebron High
By Dan Eakin, deakin@starlocalnews.com
A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday morning by Carrollton police after he allegedly posted a threat to Hebron High School Wednesday afternoon.
Jon Stovall of the Carrollton Police Department said Thursday morning, “A juvenile student at the school posted a threat of violence towards the school. He was located and arrested at his home this morning with terroristic threat charges pending. There is no indication at this time that any actions were actually taken by the student, but we of course will be investigating further.”
He added, “We can’t release the exact wording used in the threat as it is potential evidence. Juveniles are not booked into the jail. They are handled by the county juvenile detention facility.”
“I want to inform you that campus administrators were notified late yesterday evening about a threat to the school. Administrators acted quickly, notifying the Carrollton Police Department and school resource officers. An investigation quickly revealed a lone suspect, who was apprehended early this morning. We worked closely with Carrollton Police on the investigation and immediately implemented emergency to assure your child’s safety.
“There will be increased police presence at Hebron High School and Hebron 9th Grade Center throughout the day. As always, we will keep you informed of any updates regarding the situation.
“Again, your child’s safety and security is top priority at Hebron High School and Hebron 9th Grade Center.”
