Centennial HS Titan TV senior producer/editor receives Honorable Mention in contest

Centennial High School Titan TV senior producer/editor Breylin Becton receives an Honorable Mention in the C-SPAN StudentCam documentary contest.

StudentCam is C-SPAN’s annual national video documentary competition. The contest’s objective is to encourage students to consider issues affecting their community and our nation. The students were asked to create a five- to eight-minute documentary themed “Message to the President” in which the student should detail what he or she considers to be the most important issue that the president should consider in 2013.

Becton’s entry was one of 75 winning documentaries.  A total of 3,753 students representing 44 states created the 1,893 entries in this year’s contest. Becton will receive a $250 prize award for his video which can be viewed at http://studentcam.viddler.com/videos/watch.php?id=65387b17.

Becton has been in Centennial’s broadcast journalism program for four years and plans to attend Abilene Christian University and major in mass communications.
