Jake Radcliff earns Eagle Scout rank

Eagle Scout - Jake Radcliff
By Lisa Radcliff
Jake Radcliff of Coppell became an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scout organization, on Feb. 26, 2013.
Jake is a member of Troop 841 in Coppell. For his Eagle Scout project, Jake first held a Hotdog Fundraiser at the Valvoline on Denton Tap Road in Coppell. Bill Cavalle, the owner of Valvoline, generously donated the hotdogs, chips and drinks for Jake as well as a prominent spot out in front of his store to hold his fundraiser.
Jake coordinated volunteers from his troop to help him in his efforts to raise money for his project. Jake and his volunteers spent five hours out in the hot Coppell sun working to raise the funds to build his project. Their efforts paid off and they raised more than $550.
Jake then coordinated more volunteers to help him in building a 4-by-6-foot oak and glass display case that is a permanent fixture on the wall at St. Ann's church of Coppell. This case honors men and women actively serving in the military who are members or family members of St. Ann parishioners.
The Knights of Columbus sponsored Jake in his efforts and they will manage the submissions from parishioners.
To submit a photo to be included in the display, you or a family must be a member of St. Ann's church. Submission forms are located in the narthex of the church and should be turned in to the church office along with a 4" x 6" picture.
