Collin County approves changes to Texas Constitution
Collin County saw a relatively tame election day, as 30,500 citizens cast their votes, the majority of which were in favor of the 11 constitutional amendments on the Nov. 3 ballot. The amendments were all approved statewide, and having previously been passed in resolutions by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate, the propositions will now be made part of the Texas Constitution.

School board goes to school to explore the opportunities
Many of you may not know the members of any school board in Texas are required to have a certain amount of continuing education credits each year. New members are required a few more hours than existing members. The first weekend of October a majority of the Celina ISD board members along with the superintendent went to Houston to the annual TASB / TASA state convention to go get educated on a wide variety of topics.
Celina not having fun as Fun Day approaches
Many people who were unhappy with the Celina city council's decision at Monday's meeting to grant a one-day variance of the ordinance prohibiting public consumption of alchohol took their case to the Celina ISD school board meeting on Tuesday.
Fun Day
Come to the square in Celina for the 30th annual Lynn Stambaugh Celina Fun Day. It will begin at 6 a.m. with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Men's Christian fellowship group. There will be plenty of food and craft booths. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with various bands. Don't miss Fun Day on the square.

Council refuses to rescind vote to allow alcohol consumption on Fun Day
The Celina city council voted not to reconsider their approval of a one-day variance of the alcoholic beverages ordinance at a special council meeting on Monday despite strong pressure from the public to do so.
