Forum eyes extending half-cent sales tax, broadening use

The Coppell Recreation and Development Corporation (CRDC) Re-Authorization Committee hosted a forum at Coppell Town Center Tuesday night to consider proposals to extend the half-cent sales tax and broadening its use.

With about 35 people in attendance, Chairman Ed Guignon explained how the half-cent sales tax has been used to fund various projects during the past 15 years, and how revenue from it could be used in the future if it is extended and its use broadened.
