PSO opens season with Beethoven
The Plano Symphony Orchestra will open its 27th season Sept. 26 with pianist Adam Neiman. Maestro Hector Guzman will lead the orchestra in a celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven in “Bravo Beethoven,” featuring two of the composer’s piano concertos. The concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson.

Pint-sized princess
For three years, six-year-old Plano resident Delaney Walker has competed in pageants. She holds the title of Our Little Miss Texas State Queen and recently earned the title of the 2009 National American Miss Texas Princess out of 70 finalists. Delaney will attend the national pageant during Thanksgiving week at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.
September set aside for gynecologic cancer education
In 2005, 75,144 women were diagnosed with some type of gynecologic cancer. In 2006, The House of Representatives recognized September as Gynecologic Awareness Month to increasing public awareness about ways to prevent, detect and treat gynecologic cancers.
