Lewisville ISD recently received preliminary results of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test, which was administered in the spring.
Last month, districts across the state received results of math and reading exams taken by fifth- and eighth-graders since they had to pass those tests to be promoted to the next grade level. An expanded list of results for all grade levels was provided last week.
Recently over 700 CEOs ranked Texas as the top state for businesses. In the survey conducted by Chief Executive magazine, respondents were asked to rate each state on taxation and regulation, quality of workforce, and living environment. This is not the first year the CEOs surveyed have listed Texas as the best state to do business, it is the ninth. This is just one example of how our state has developed a reputation as a low-tax and pro-growth place to live and work.
